Bunnies, Bonnets, and Parades – Oh My!

Easter is about rebirth and New Orleans loves a comeback. At least as splendid as a day full of parades is the non-stop spectacle of hats, headpieces, and fascinators worn by revelers and brunch-eaters throughout the French Quarter.

There are at least 3 parades, but the one with all the traditional floats and throws is the French Quarter Easter Parade – or as we know it – the Chris Owens Easter Parade. Though the legendary burlesque queen and club owner passed in 2022, the parade still adheres to the traditions of Miss Chris with her dazzling gowns and fabulous hats.

The Gay Easter Parade features walking groups and handcrafted throws – and more amazing hats!

We started the day with an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, but the real feast of the day was for the eyes. Happy Spring y'all.
